Patriots Match Best Victory Run Since Tom Brady Era with Triumph Against New York Jets
Rookie TreVeyon Henderson has scored five touchdowns in the present year
New England equaled their best victory streak from the Tom Brady period as they overcame AFC East rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in the NFL
First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three TDs as the Patriots claimed an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Tom Brady's final season with the team in the 2019 season

The win increases the New England's advantage at the summit of the AFC East as they moved to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets at the foot after dropping to a 2-8 mark
The opposing team had scored first at their home field with QB Fields rushing for a five-yard touchdown to cap the Jets' first possession
But the Patriots answered in the second quarter as the rookie scored two seven-yard TDs before the running back caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone halfway into the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7
"It was a big time for him stepping up, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He desires to be outstanding."
Justin Fields found John Metchie late in the third period to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Andy Borregales booted a two field goals in the final period as the Patriots sealed the victory
