David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

An official for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
